Nita Chainani-Wu, DMD, MS, MPH, PhD Diplomate, American Board of Oral Medicine

Dr. Nita Chainani-Wu received her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania. She then received her certificate in Oral Medicine and Masters in Oral Biology from the University of California, San Francisco and Masters in Public Health and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine and co-director of the local professional study club. She is former project director and senior research scientist at the Preventive Medicine Research Institute, Sausalito, California. Dr. Chainani-Wu has been in private practice (specialized in oral medicine) in Sunnyvale and then Mountain View since 2000, and been a faculty member at UCSF from 2001 to 2014. Her expertise is in diagnosis and treatment of oral mucosal lesions and diseases, and pre-treatment oral consultation and care for patients undergoing radiation for head and neck cancers.
